Windows 7 End of Life = Security Non-Compliance | IMS

What is the issue?

The Windows 7 End of Life date has been announced:

January 14, 2020

  • Microsoft will no longer update or support the operating system after that date
  • If you are running Windows 7 after the above date, you will be at serious risk of PCI non-compliance.
  • Payment gateways REQUIRE you to operate your hardware with an OS with ongoing security updates.

If you are running Windows 7 on your hardware. = YES


• The Windows 10 professional operating environment has critical technical limitations that will not allow it to run Retail Pro in certain configurations.


• If you’re moving to Windows 10 professional you will be required to upgrade to Retail Pro 9.4, or Retail Pro Prism 1.13 or higher for your business

What does non-compliance mean?

The Windows 7 End of Life date has been announced:
